Brian began his career in financial services as an agent for Group and Individual Medical Insurance with Surf City Insurance Services. His goal has always been to find the very best options for his clients. Through his efforts, he discovered many financial missteps people routinely make, and he developed a keen interest in helping people be more efficient with their money. To provide more comprehensive service, he educated himself in the special needs of his older clients, earning his Certified Long-Term Care (CLTC) and also his Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) qualifications. But he still saw the need to take a larger view in the effort to improve all of his clients’ long-term financial health. His research brought to light a planning strategy that is all about efficiency, eliminating losses and being in charge of one’s own money. After much study and training, he started Surf City Financial Group (SCFG). It was a natural progression that a few years later the scope of services was once again broadened to include helping those with children approaching the college years. After all, putting children through college is the largest expense over the span of a few short years most families’ will ever face. Specialists in college planning and educational financing were added to the team and SCFG’s college planning division was launched - Surf City College Planning.

Nicole joined Surf City thirteen years ago (2003) and she directs the health insurance division of the business, overseeing individual, small group, large group, and Medicare policies. Licensed in California and Arizona, Nicole has the knowledge and the experience essential for delivering superlative service to Surf City clients. Prior to moving into the insurance services sector, Nicole was an area manager at a coffee chain, during which time she gained a wealth of experience in payroll, human resources, and compliance. A guru when it comes to sales and client services, and recently certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Nicole is also a natural people person and she makes herself constantly available both to clients and to her colleagues. Nicole attended California State University Long Beach, where she majored in Business Management, and she's a regular volunteer with a local woman’s refuge..
Dawn began her career in financial services as a Property and Casualty Account Manager with Corroon and Black in Maryland. She then moved into the health industry where she specialized in Long Term Care Insurance. Dawn came to us from the Herman Agency where she was a valued resource to clients and advisors with her knowledge of LTC products and underwriting. Dawn finds satisfaction helping clients prepare for their future and her ability to find the best solution for the client is a testament to her 20+ years of industry experience.
Dawn has a degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland.
Dawn is married to Chris. She is an avid marathon runner who has competed nationally. She also enjoys cycling, and is a volunteer and foster with an animal rescue group and local theater.
Sarah is new to the world of financial and college planning, but has been working in the healthcare setting for over 6 years,
dealing primarily with health insurance. Sarah recently passed her exam to become a Notary Public, and is in the process of completing the remaining steps so she can start offering those services.
She is currently going to school working on a degree in Psychology and in Theatre Arts.
Sarah enjoys helping people, and strives to do whatever she can to make others’ lives easier, and less stressful.
She is a Southern California native, and currently resides in the Huntington Beach area. In her free time she enjoys seeing live performances of both music and theater, as well as working with the charity group she is a part of, helping to raise money for Make-A-Wish and other charities.
Ashley has over 8 years of experience navigating the maze of the college acceptance process. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Psychology with a Minor in Educational Psychology. In addition, Ashley holds a degree in Clinical Dental Hygiene from the collaborative UCLA/West LA program. She has assisted Honors Students, Gifted Students, Average Students, Athletes, Students with IEP’s and Emotional Challenges all obtain their goals of being accepted into colleges in which they can thrive.
Adriana Lugo is an experienced and accomplished Controller.
Native from Colombia. She holds a Bachelor degree in Communications and Journalism from Universidad Del Valle, Cali Colombia. She earned her MBA with emphasis in Marketing from the same university in 1997 and she was also certified in Financial Management in the same year. After working more than 20 years in managerial positions in different industries she.
